St. Louis Electronics acquired Dechant Electrical Service in 1990 when Dechant's owner, Robert Dechant, retired. The name was changed to Dechant Electronics and the main location remained at 1700 N. Belt East in Belleville, IL.
In October of 2001, Robert W. Galvin, Chairman of the Board of Motorola (right) came to Belleville to help celebrate Dechant's 50th Anniversary of service to Motorola.
